About the Licensing Directory
The DISTRYB Licensing Directory is a free, public reference that brings U.S. federal alcohol permits and state alcohol licenses together in one searchable place. It's built and maintained by DISTRYB, the B2B platform for beverage brands, distributors, and retailers.
Where the data comes from
Federal permits are sourced from the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) public List of Permittees, published under the Freedom of Information Act. It covers importers, wholesalers, distilled spirits plants, wineries, and breweries holding a federal Basic Permit. Our copy reflects the TTB publication dated April 2025.
State licenses are sourced from individual state alcohol-control agencies. State coverage is deepest in Illinois today and expanding — we add states over time, since each state publishes its data differently.
How federal and state records are joined
Where possible, we match a federal permittee to its state license(s) by business name and state, and show both on a single profile. Matches are scored and shown as confirmed or possible; a profile never depends on a state match, so federal-only listings still appear in full.
How often it updates
We re-check the TTB publication weekly and re-ingest whenever a new list is published — adding new permittees, flagging ones that have dropped off as inactive, and tagging newly issued permits. The directory and its search index update automatically with each refresh.
Accuracy & corrections
These are public-record listings for informational purposes only — not a current legal attestation of licensure, and not an endorsement. Records can lag the source or contain errors. If you spot a problem, use the “Suggest a correction” link on any profile, and business owners can claim their listing to keep it current.
